There are many temples of Goddess Deities in Himachal. Himachal is also known as Devabhoomi. There is definitely a temple in every village of Himachal. Here we will describe some of the major temples

Naina Devi Temple (Vilaspur)

The temple of Naina Devi is located at an altitude of 1177m from Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. This temple is known as 51 Shakti Peetha. Where the mothers of Mother Sati were fallen. Here the pilgrims visit the whole year. During Chaitra and Ashwin Navaratri there is a lot of crowd for Goddess philosophy.

Jwalamukhi Mandir ( Kangra )

The volcano is one of the major temples of Himachal. Here flame of blue flame rises from the middle of the rocks all the time. This is considered as manifestation of Goddess Mother. Emperor Akbar made many attempts to quench the flames, but failed. Later, Akbar offered a gold bangle which was rejected by the mother. Here is the dome of golden water created by Ranjit Singh in 1813 AD.

Hidimba Temple ( Manali )

The temple of Mother Hidimba in Himachal is also one of the main temples. This temple is dedicated to Bhima’s wife. Pandav Bhim and Hidimba spent many years here after marriage. This temple was built by Maharaj Bahadur Singh in 1553 AD. Pagouda style is typical of this temple. Every year there is a fair in the month of jaipur. Here is the temple of Bhimotakacha, also the son of Bhima.

Tara Devi Temple (Shimla)

This temple is 10 km away from Shimla city. This temple is situated in a secluded atmosphere between the hills covered with forests. It is believed that the king of the Sen empire from West Bengal brought this temple. All the successors of the Sena empire used to worship here.

Baijnath Temple (Palampur)

Due to the ancient temple, the Baijnath temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This is a good mix of sculpture and architecture in the peak style built in the 9th century. Lord Shiva’s temple is located near Kangra and Palampur. Puju worshiping has a special significance in the temple on Monday, falling in the month of Shravan.

Chamunda Devi Temple (Kangra)

The temple of Mother Chamunda in Kangra is also famous. Mother Chamunda is the nature of Kali Mama. It is also known as Shiva Shakti. This temple is composed of 16th century Mo Banar river. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. It is believed that the feet of Mother Sati fell in Chamunda Devi temple. Due to Asura Chanda Munda, the name of the mother fell into Chamunda.

Jakhu Temple (Shimla)

Shimla city This Jakhu temple is located 2 kilometers away. Here is the world famous temple of Hanuman ji. It is believed that Hanuman ji had given a vision to the Yaksh a sage, from which the Yakshi Rishi made the temple of Hanuman ji here. There is a huge height of 108 feet in the courtyard of Jakhu temple.

Chintipurni Temple (Una)

This temple is located in Una district, this temple is known as 51 Shakti Peetha. Here the mother of Mother Sati had fallen. The temple was founded by Pandit Mai Das, a Brahmin. Even today, their descendants live in Chanpanchati. It is said that Rudra Mahadev has kept the temple of Chintupurni Devi safe from four directions. In all four directions there is Lord Shiva’s temple. This temple is also called Chinnamastika Dham.
