Pushpa 2 is changing the records at the box office. It is now the fastest film to break into the Rs 1000 crore club.

Sukumar directs Pushpa 2, which also features Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, and Rao Ramesh. It draws from the sandalwood mafia and features power struggles between gangsters.

Day 9 Collections

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 continues to dominate the box office even though the actor was arrested after he allegedly caused the stampede during the premiere at Sandhya Theatre. The film generated about Rs 29 crore across all the languages on Friday. Expect it to touch Rs 30-35 crore this weekend. The film is likely to become the third largest-grossing Indian film ever after Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Prabhas’ Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion. And it will probably overtake SRK’s Jawan, and perhaps Yash Rajamouli’s KGF Chapter 2.

Sukumar’s Pushpa 2 is about sandalwood gangsters and stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Sunil, Rao Ramesh and Anasuya Bharadwaj in pivotal roles. It is based on the real-life account of a mafioso who revolts against authority and makes the world his own.

It has become a super hit in all the languages — especially Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. It has inflamed a nationwide hysteria among movie lovers, especially in North India. It already became the fastest Indian film to cross Rs 1,000 crore.

Some may have remained unconvinced by this, as the movie was rocked by Allu Arjun’s arrest over the stampede incident in the first go. Nonetheless, it has continued its run and is expected to continue its record-breaking season at the box office.

Day 9 Occupancy

Pushpa 2 remained unflappable at the box office on its second Saturday. The film grossed over Rs 36 crore at the box office bringing its cumulative amount to over Rs 680 crore.

Day 9 India Net

Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Allu Arjun, has taken Rs 2.5 crore at the box office on its ninth day. The film is still on fire and is poised to earn over Rs 800 crore in its lifetime. In the collections, Hindi dubbed is on top, followed by Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.

It broke a number of records and became the first Indian film to bag over Rs 1,000 crore at the worldwide box office. It is also the highest-grossing South Indian film ever. It also beat SS Rajamouli’s RRR, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s Kalki 2898 AD, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.

Pushpa 2’s success is a monumental milestone for Bollywood and industry at large. A monster movie made everyone sit up and reevaluate their business plan. And it has proved that a good script and great acting will break every single one of those walls. Taran Adarsh even referred to the film’s success as a “Sholay moment” in Indian filmmaking. The top trader also expects movies such as Pushpa 2 to blow through the boxes in 2024 like Stree did in 2024.
